The climate of Osnabruck (Germany)
Osnabruck is a medium-sized city located in the southwestern part of
the federal state of Lower Saxony in the vicinity of the border with
the Netherlands. The city is located on the banks of the Hase River
near Teutoburger forest. Between 1643-1648 negotiations in Münster
and Osnabrück led to the Peace of Westphalia. This treaty led to the
end of the 30 years’ war. The largest part of the historic center of
Osnabruck was destroyed during WWII. However, after the war large
parts of the center were renovated such as the historic Town Hall,
weighing house and St Mary’s church. Osnabruck has a moderate
maritime climate influenced by the North Sea and the Atlantic Ocean.
Osnabruck has a wet climate, there is a chance of precipitation
almost two thirds of the time. Summers are fairly cool with average
temperatures just above 20 degrees Celsius (68 degrees Fahrenheit)

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
