The climate of Ahmedabad (India)
Ahmedabad is an ancient town on the Sambarmati river. The town is a
splendid combination of new and ancient worlds. There are various
beautiful old buildings, but also hip shops and trendy restaurants and
bars. Every year in January the air is saturated with colours. Then
the town is the hometown of the annual kite festival. Ghandi admirers
hit the town to visit his former headquarters. Ahmedabad has a warm
steppe climate which is characterized by three seasons as far as the
weather is concerned: the summer, the winter and the rain period. Out
of the rain period it is very dry. The summers are very warm with
temperatures that can rise considerably. The wintermonths are
agreeable with reasonably mild temperatures.. Most rain falls in the
months July up to and including September. The heavy rainfall
regularly causes floods.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
