The climate of Jaipur (India)
Jaipur is the capital of the federal state of Rajasthan. The town is
completely planned and was founded by the Marahaja Jai Singh II in
1727. Due to the rich past of the town there are a lot of touristic
draws. Palaces, temples and splendid gardens breathe the spirit of a
remote past and yearly attract many tourists.
Jaipur has a warm steppe climate. This is a transitional climate
between the tropical climate and the desert climate. The temperature
throughout the year is rather high. Also in the wintermonths it does
not get very cold. Except for one thing however, this is only when
cold air is transported from the north. From June up to and including
September the monsoon rain falls here. Thunderstorms and heavy
rainfall are the rule rather than exception in this period.
