The climate of Panaji (India)
Panaji is the capital of the touristic federal state of Goa. The town
is situated on the river Mandovi and has been built against the hills
on the bank. The town has strong Portuguese influences and is full of
little white houses. In the town are also some curiosities very much
worth while. Splendid temples, churches and mosques are surely worth a
visit. During the Holi festival the whole town is upside down. Outside
the town there is a large bird-sanctuary and shelter. Beside the rush
of the town this is a beautiful resting-point, naturally the beach is
also very suitable for this.
The climate in Panaji is a tropical savannah climate. This is a warm
climate with a very distinct dry and rainy period and a much lower air
humidity than a tropical climate. The most rain falls in the
summermonths. The wintermonths are dry with agreeable temperatures, on
hot days tempered by a calm seabreeze.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
