The climate of Bolzano (Italy)
Bolzano is the capital and the largest city in the Italian province of
South Tyrol. Most people here speak both Italian and German. Tourists
come here to go cycling, walking, mountaineering and skiing. The
Bolzano cathedral and Castle Maretsch, Runkelstein Castle and
Firmian/Sigmundskron Castle all are well worth visiting. Many bikers
visit Bolzano as well because this is a good starting point to explore
the Dolomites. The South-Tyrol Archaeology museum can also be found in
Bolzano. Here you can admire the ice mummy Ötzi. The city is situated
in a wide valley surrounded by the Stadlegg Mountain and the Kohlern
Mountain. Bolzano has a continental climate. Because the sea has
little influence here and there is an offshore wind winters are cold
and summers are warm.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
