The climate of Nagoya (Japan)
Nagoya is located in the southern part of the island of Honsu. This
city used to be an important trading centre in this region and had a
very rich history. However, during the bombings of ’45 the city was
razed to the ground and not much of the old glory was left. During the
1960s the city flourished again because a Toyota factory was built in
the vicinity. The former castle was rebuilt and towers over the city
again with its typical architecture.
Nagoya has a moderate sea climate. Humidity figures are high and rain
falls all year round. The sun doesn’t shine a lot in this region.
However, temperatures may get high in this region. Temperatures of 30
degrees Celsius are not uncommon. Because of the influence of the sea
subzero temperatures are uncommon during the winter.
