The climate of Mandera (Kenya)
Mandera is a city located in the most northern tip of Kenya in the North Eastern province. The city is situated on the borders with Ethiopia and Somalia. Mandera is hard to reach. The best way to reach the city is by air. Most people that live here are nomads that peregrinate with their livestock. The city has been the center of several tribal wars over the past few years. Mandera has a warm desert climate with many hot days and low precipitation figures. The figures below are an average for the past 30 years, so deviations may occur. The region may experience periods with extreme drought and may record not a single drop of rain for years. Daytime temperatures are around 30 degrees Celsius all year round. Nights are also warm with temperatures around 24 degrees Celsius.
