The climate of Stip (Macedonia)
Stip or Sjtis lies in the central southern part of Macedonia. It is
the largest town in this part of the country. In the town you can find
the largest textile manufacturing industry of the country. Stip is
also called the fashion capital of the country. The river Otinja runs
right across the town and separates the town into two parts. Just
outside the town there is a fourteenth-century monastery and a
mediaeval castle can be found on Mount Isar. In the town there is a
statue of Alexander the Great.
Like the rest of Macedonia Stip has a moderate continental climate
with warm dry summers and reasonably cool winters. The town of Stip
lies in the east of the country and is drier and warmer than the west
and the north. In the summer it is mostly warm and dry, the winters
are reasonably cool but it gets less cold and wintry than in the
mountains. The amount of precipitation here is moderate and equally
scattered over the entire year. On the coldest days of the year the
precipitation here comes down as snow or sleet. Long-lasting frost
seldom occurs here.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
