The climate of Juárez (Mexico)
Ciudad de Juárez is a large city (>1 million inhabitants) centrally
located along the border with the United States of America. The city
is not known as a tourist attraction but as the city where a large
number of women work as wage slaves in one of the many factories that
mainly produce goods for the American market. Juárez is often
portrayed negatively in the news as the place where workers disappear
and get murdered. The headquarters of the infamous drug syndicate the
Juárez cartel is also situated here. Ciudad de Juárez has a warm
steppe climate which is a transitional type of climate in between a
subtropical and a desert climate. Juárez gets about 400 millimeters of
annual precipitation. Because of the low precipitation figures hardly
any trees grow here and the region is everything but green. The
climate is strongly influenced by an ever blowing and quite fierce
northerly wind.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
