The climate of Manzanillo (Mexico)
Manzanillo is a seaside resort on the Mexican west coast in the
federal state of Colima. The Revillagigedo Islands are also part of
the Manzanillo municipality. Besides the fact that Manzanillo is known
as a seaside resort and is very popular among deep sea fishers it is
also the largest port in Mexico. Manzanillo gets about 350 sunny days
per year; most precipitation falls during the summer. Precipitation
figures are quite high. However, rain doesn’t fall every day. You can
actually feel humidity figures rising and when the clouds are
saturated rain starts to fall. Hurricane season is from the second
part of June till October. However, the latest hurricane that passed
by was in 1959, so the risk of a hurricane hitting Manzanillo is quite
small.
