The climate of Oaxaca (Mexico)
Oaxaca de Juárez or Oaxaca for short is located at an altitude of
1,600 meters in the southern Sierra Madre and is the capital of the
province of Oaxaca de Juárez. Oaxaca has a reasonably mild subtropical
climate with temperatures of 20 degrees Celsius on average. The rainy
period is from June till October. Oaxaca is also known as the culinary
capital of Mexico and is known for the many traditional delicatessen.
The old city center has a characteristic colonial chess board pattern
and has been a Unesco world heritage site since 1987.
