information about weather and climate can be found on the climate
pages per area or town. As for Micronesia the following climate
information is available:
Tropical
Micronesia has a tropical climate with high precipitation figures all
year round. Maximum temperatures are 30-31 degrees Celsius, during the
coldest part of the night temperatures are 21-25 degrees Celsius. The
islands of Micronesia get 3,000-8,000 millimeters of annual rain on
average. The islands situated in the east are the wettest. Both the

further you travel to the west. The federal states of
Pohnpei and
Kosrae are among the wettest areas in the world.
Hurricanes
Because all of the islands within Micronesia are small there is an
ever blowing sea breeze. From December till June there is an ever
blowing north easterly trade wind. During this period there is an
increasing risk of tropical storms or even hurricanes on most of the
islands. Most of the inhabited islands are situated on the southern
border of the hurricane zone; there is a risk of hurricanes here from
October/November till June.
