The climate of Ngerulmud (Palau)
Ngerulmud is a hamlet on the island of Babeldoab, the largest island
of Palau. Besides the beautifully shaped governmental buildings hardly
anything can be found in Ngerulmud. Although Ngerulmud is the
governmental seat it isn’t the capital of Palau. The city of
Melekeok
is the capital and is located in the vicinity. Ngerulmud has a
tropical climate with many rainy days. Rain falls in the form of
(heavy) showers. During the second part of the year precipitation
figures are slightly higher as well as the frequency of the showers.
The tropical climate is characterized by constant temperatures. During
the day temperatures are around 31 degrees Celsius; during the night
temperatures hardly ever drop below 20 degrees Celsius.
