The climate of Gdansk (Poland)
Together with the seaside resort of Sopot and the port of Gdynia
Gdansk forms a so called Tricity (Trójmiasto). This conglomerate
metropolitan area is located in the northern part of Poland and has
about 1 million inhabitants. Although situated on the Baltic Sea
Gdansk has a moderate continental climate because the sea has little
influence. Gdansk has reasonably mild winters; during the night
subzero temperatures can be recorded, during the day temperatures will
be around freezing point. When very cold air comes from the north or
the east severe frost is not uncommon with bleak and cold days.
