The climate of Evora (Portugal)
Evora is a medium sized city located in the southeastern part of
Portugal in the Evora district in the former Alentejo region. The old
city center of Evora is a Unesco world heritage site. The main reason
for this are the Roman remains, such as the Roman aquaduct and the
Roman temple of Evora. Just outside the city the Anta Grande do
Zambujeiro can be found. This is one of the largest dolmens in the
world and is a preservation site within Portugal. Evora has a warm
maritime climate only slightly influenced by both the Mediterranean
Sea and the Atlantic Ocean; this is because the city is situated in
the interior. Because of this average temperatures during the summer
are slightly higher and chances of extremes in weather are slightly
higher as well. Most precipitation falls during the winter.
