The climate of Sibiu (Romania)
Sibiu is a city located in the southern part of Transylvania at the
foot of the Transylvanian Alps at an altitude of about 400 meters.
Because the city is located west from the Carpathians the Black Sea
hardly has any influence on the climate here. Sibiu has a continental
climate with fairly cool winters and warm summers. Sibiu is one of the
most beautiful cities in Romania, mainly because of the many old
houses and buildings which were built after the 15th century which
makes you give the feeling you walk straight into a fairytale. One of
the main attractions is the Neo-byzantine orthodox cathedral which is
seen as one of the most beautiful in Europe.
