The climate of Algeciras (Spain)
Algeciras is one of the most southerly located cities in Spain and is
located on the Strait of Gibraltar. Only the city of Tarifa is still
further to the north. Algeciras is a young city by Spanish standards
and was founded at the end of early middle ages. This port situated
across from Gibraltar is used by ferries that sail to places in
Africa. From Algeciras excursions can be made to both Gibraltar and
Morocco. From Algeciras a ship sets sail to Morocco every day.
Algeciras has mild winters and pleasant summers with an ever blowing
sea breeze. Winters are fairly wet by Spanish standards. This part of
Andalusia is among the wettest coastal regions in Spain. Summers are
dry, precipitation is rare during this period. Average daytime
temperatures are just below 30 degrees Celsius (86.0 degrees
Fahrenheit). During the winter temperatures are around 18-20 degrees
Celsius (64.4-68.0 degrees Fahrenheit).

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
