The climate of Almería (Spain)
Almeria is a large city located in the southeastern part of Spain on
the Costa Almeria. The city is located in the Almeria province, in the
Andalusia region. Almeria is separated from the city of Granada by the
Sierra Nevada. Several attractions from its long history can be found
in the city. Among them are a cathedral and an Arab fortress dating
back to the 16th century. Summers in Almeria are very sunny. Cabo de
Gata Níjar Natural Park is one of the driest areas in Europe and has
all the characteristics of a desert. No wonder several westerns were
filmed here. The snowy mountain peaks in the background make for a
nice contrast. Almeria is also known for its beaches. The temperature
of the sea is often higher than the temperature of the air making it
very pleasant to swim in.
