The climate of Jandía (Canary
Islands / Spain)
Jandia is a seaside resort located in the southern part of
Fuerteventura. The city was named after the region and its beaches
(Playas de Jandia). On this spot tourism started in
Fuerteventura.
Jandia itself offers hardly any attractions. It actually consists of
hotels and shopping centers like everywhere all over the Canary
Islands. The symbol of Jandia is the lighthouse which stands lonely
along the wide beach. Because Jandia is located in the southern part
of Fuerteventura skies are not as often cloudy as in the northern part
of the island. On average temperatures are slightly higher than in
Corralejo. During the summer differences are not that large. However,
during the winter the weather is often more pleasant in Jandia than in
other places on Fuerteventura.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
