The climate of La Palma (Canary
Islands / Spain)
La Palma is an island with many differences in weather and climate.
The village of Tazacorte is said to get the largest amount of hours of
annual sunshine in Europe while snow may fall in the mountains which
are in the vicinity of the village. La Palma is one of the wettest of
the Canary Islands. Because of this the island is also known as the
Green Island. This is why the island is very popular among nature
lovers and hikers. Because of this specific target group tourism will
never be as massive as on the neighboring islands of
Tenerife, Gran
Canaria and Lanzarote. Several small accommodations can be found on La
Palma which aim for authenticity instead of mass tourism.
