The climate of Playa del Inglés (Canary
Islands / Spain)
Playa del Ingles is located in the southern part of
Gran Canaria.
Together with the bordering cities of Maspalomas and Costa Meloneras
Playa del Inglés is the most popular destination on the island. Playa
del Inglés does not offer many attractions. The city mainly consists
of hotels, apartments, bungalow parks and shopping malls. The city has
no real center. The nearest approximation to a center can be found
along the beach. Here you can find many shops and restaurants. The
Dunas de Maspalomas is the most beautiful part of Playa del Inglés.
These dunes are a preservation site which is very popular. Dry and
warm summers and fairly dry and mild winters make for very pleasant
conditions for beach lovers and sun worshippers. Playa del Inglés gets
many hours of sunshine and very few rainy days. Rain mostly falls
during the winter. This is also why Playa del Inglés is very popular
as a sun destination.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
