The climate of Tenerife (Canary
Islands / Spain)
Climatologically Tenerife can be divided into two parts:
the green
northern part and the dry southern part.
Tenerife North
The northern part of Tenerife is the greener part where temperatures
are slightly lower than in the southern part, precipitation figures
are higher and skies are more often cloudy. Here the popular seaside
resort Puerto de la Cruz is located together with the smaller villages Garachico, San Juan de la Rambla, La Guancha, Buenavista del Notre,
Los Realejos and La Orotava.

Tenerife South
The southern part of Tenerife is drier and sunnier than the northern
part. The southern part of the island also gets more sunshine and has
lower precipitation figures. Because of the pleasant climate this
region is very popular as a sun destination. On this part of the
island the following popular seaside resorts can be found:
Playa de las Americas, Los Cristianos, Costa Adeje, El Medano, Costa del
Silencio, Las Galletas, Playa de San Juan and Los Gigantes.
