The climate of Córdoba (Spain)
Cordoba is a large city located in the central part of the Andalusia
region in the Cordoba province. The city is located at the foot of the
Sierra Morena mountain range on the Guadalquivir River. It is an old
city. During the Middle Ages the city already had a population of
500,000. Nowadays it has a slightly lower population figure. However,
it is still among the largest cities in Spain. The historic center of
Cordoba is a Unesco preservation site. The most beautiful building in
the center is the Mezquita. In past times this cathedral was used as a
mosque. Cordoba is one of the warmest cities in Spain. This is because
several climate types clash and merge here. Summers are hot,
temperatures may easily rise above 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees
Fahrenheit). If it is this hot you will notice the streets are empty
at noon. Winters are very wet, long lasting precipitation is not
uncommon.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
