The climate of L'Escala (Spain)
L’Escala is a small tourist city located in the northeastern part of
Spain on the Costa Brava. This old fishing village is located in the
Gerona province in the Catalonia region. Over the past decades the
village became a popular holiday destination. Most tourists travel
here to enjoy the beautiful beaches and the pleasant sea. A large
annual festival is held here in honor of the Anchovies of L´Escala.
This salted fish is a local delicacy. Just like other places on the
Costa Brava L’Escala has a moderate Mediterranean climate. Because of
the influence of the Mediterranean Sea extremes in weather are
uncommon and it is very pleasant to stay here during the summer. Long
lasting precipitation is uncommon.
