The climate of Tarragona (Spain)
Tarragona is located in the Tarragona province in the autonomous
region of Catalonia. Tarragona is situated in the popular tourist
region of the Costa Dorada. The city has been inhabited for many
centuries. During Roman times the city was called Tarraco. The remains
are also known as the Archeological ensemble of Tarraco and is a
Unesco preservation site. This ensemble consists of the Aqueduct, a
circus, an amphitheater and the Santa Maria cathedral. Tarragona as a
Mediterranean climate. The climate is pleasant all year round. During
the summer it may get very warm. However, an ever blowing sea breeze
offers some cooling. Because of the many buildings in the city the
heat remains stationary. Precipitation is quite evenly spread out over
the year with a small peak during fall.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
