The climate of Torrevieja (Spain)
Torrevieja is located in the southern part of the
Costa Blanca, about
40 kilometers south of Alicante. The main source of income is tourism
and to a lesser degree salt extraction. This used to be the main
source of income. As a tourist you can visit the salt flats. About 20
kilometers of beaches can be enjoyed in the city which are divided
into smaller beaches. One of the most beautiful buildings in the city
is the Iglesia Arciprestal de la Inmaculada Concepcion which was built
in 1789. Torrevieja has a warm Mediterranean climate influenced by the
Mediterranean Sea. Just like in the rest of the region summers are
warm and dry and winters are very mild and fairly dry. This is caused
by the situation of the city between the Mediterranean Sea and the
mountains. Because of this Torrevieja is very popular among sun
worshippers and as a destination to spend the winter in.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
