The climate of Khao Lak (Thailand)
Khao Lak is Thailand’s second largest island and is situated off the
south east coast. Ko Chang is located in the Trat province. The island
of Ko Chang is a popular tourist destination, mainly because of the
white beaches and azure blue sea. The island is part of a national
park and its inland is protected. Guided walks can be made in the
rainforest. Several beautiful waterfalls can be found here. Off the
coast several reefs can be found which are ideal for snorkeling. A
few islands are situated off Ko Chang’s coast. They can be reached by
ferry. The beautiful nature and pearl white beaches can be enjoyed
here peacefully.
Ko Chang has a tropical savannah climate. This type of climate has two
different seasons. A rainy season and a dry season. The rainy season
starts in May and ends in October. During this period large amounts of
rain can fall, but don’t be put off by this. Most of the rain falls in
the late afternoon or during the night. This makes for pleasant and
bearable nighttimes. During the dry period temperatures are a little
lower. This also is the most popular time to visit Ko Chang. During
the summer hurricanes and cyclones are not uncommon in this region.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
