The climate of Killeen (Texas - United States of America)
Killeen is a large city located centrally in the state of Texas in Bell County. The city was established with the coming of the Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe Railway. However, Killeen remained a small village until the second part of the 20th century when Fort Hood was built here which is a military post. In 2009 this military base was attacked by a gunman who took the lives of 13 people. Killeen has a warm maritime climate with high precipitation figures all year round. Most precipitation can be recorded during spring and early summer. During the winter precipitation may fall in the form of sleet or snow. Killeen is located in Tornado Alley. Please, bear this in mind during tornado season.
