The climate of Waco (Texas - United States of America)
Waco is a large city centrally located in the state of Texas between the cities of Dallas and Austin. Waco is located in McLennan County on the banks of the Brazos River. Waco was founded in 1849, prior to this the region was home to the Wichita Indians who were also known as Waco. One of the biggest attractions in Waco is the Waco Suspension Bridge which was constructed in 1869. This bridge connects the center with the rest of the city. Baylor University is based in Waco. Waco has a warm maritime climate influenced by the Gulf of Mexico. Because of this extremes in weather are uncommon here. Precipitation is quite evenly spread out over the year. During the warmest days of summer temperatures may rise. Waco is located in Tornado Alley.
