The climate of Da Lat (Vietnam)
Da Lat is located at an altitude of about 1,475 meters in the
Vietnamese highlands. The city used to be a French mountain village. A
miniature Eifel tower can still be found here. The city still breathes
the old colonial atmosphere, because of this it is very popular as a
romantic destination. Da Lat is an excellent starting point for
exploring the beautiful surroundings. Characteristic for Da Lat are
its ‘easy riders’. These bikers show tourists the surroundings for a
small fee. The program usually consists of a tour through the
beautiful surroundings, a visit to the chicken village, a visit to the
village of the Hoho tribe, a visit to a silk factory and the summer
palace of emperor Bao Dai. As opposed to the climate in other regions
Da Lat has no tropical climate. There is a distinct dry and a distinct
wet period, but high temperatures are uncommon here. Because of high
humidity figures and relatively low temperatures there is a lot of fog
in Da Lat. Temperatures are between 18-25 degrees Celsius (64.4-77.0
degrees Fahrenheit) all year round.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
