The climate of Hue (Vietnam)
Hue is located in the center of Vietnam. The city is a large tourist
attraction, which unfortunately is also reflected in the prices.
Several sites even ask a fee for the use of your own camera. The
largest attractions in Hue and its surroundings are the Forbidden City
and the emperor’s tombs. Although the Forbidden City cannot be
compared to the Chinese version it is well worth visiting. Nothing
much remains standing, but the ruins give you a good impression of the
wealth of the emperor. In the vicinity the emperor’s tombs can be
found. Several excursions are offered to this site. However, it is
probably more fun to rent a moped and go explore them yourself. Hue
has a tropical savannah climate with two distinct seasons. A rainy
season and a dry season. Most rain falls from August till November,
December. During this period heavy rainfall can be expected. The start
of the year and the summers are fairly dry and warm. However, showers
are not uncommon during this period. Especially during the summer it
may get very warm.
Climate information
The figures below are based on long term weather and climate records.
They are an average for Hue.
More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
