The climate of Clearwater (Florida - United States of America)
Clearwater is a tropical port located in Pinellas County on the west coast of Florida. Temperatures often reach tropical values here because the city is located on the leeward side of the Gulf of Mexico. Clearwater has a tropical savannah climate with dry and sunny winters. Clearwater is a popular vacation destination. The Indians named the city ‘Pocotapaug’ which literally means Clear Water. The first colonists settled here because of the many fresh water springs on the coast. The white sandy beaches of Clearwater are very beautiful. The water is crystal clear and its temperature is ideal for swimming. Clearwater is an ideal beach and sun destination.
