The climate of Friday Harbor (Washington

Friday Harbor is a small port on San Juan Island which is the largest
island of the San Juan archipelago which is located in the western
part of the state of Washington. The archipelago was discovered by the
Spanish discoverer Gonzalo López de Haro at the beginning of the 18th
century. At the end of the 18th century it got its definitive name.
Friday Harbor is the largest and most important port of this
archipelago. At the end of the 19th century the Pig War between the
United States and the United Kingdom took place here. Friday Harbor
has a moderate maritime climate strongly influenced by the Salish Sea.
Winters are pleasantly mild, during the winter subzero temperatures
are uncommon. Most precipitation falls during the winter. During the
coldest days of the year precipitation falls in the form of sleet or
snow. Summers are cool with fairly cold nights.
