The climate of Kariba (Zimbabwe)
Kariba is a small city located in the northern part of Zimbabwe in the
province of Mashonaland. Kariba is situated on Lake Kariba in the
vicinity of the Zambezi River. Because of its situation on Lake Kariba
the city and the surrounding places are very popular among tourists.
This part of the country is also known as the Zimbabwean Riviera. The
lake is also popular among anglers who go on so called canoe safaris.
Kariba has a warm steppe climate with higher precipitation figures and
higher average temperatures than in other parts of Zimbabwe. This is
caused by the situation of the city in the Zambezi Valley. Because of
this night time temperatures are slightly higher here than in other
places in Zimbabwe; subzero temperatures during the night are
uncommon.

More climate information
Climate figures are very useful but don’t present a general impression
of the climate and the eventual weather circumstances within a certain
period. The figures don’t always reflect the chance of wintry weather,
extreme heat or hurricanes. That is why we offer useful extra climate
information for each month of the year:
